"I first rushed PEK because I wanted to be more connected to people with similar career interests as me. In my first semester, I was blown away by how much everyone cares about the health field, which helped me to find my own path. I quickly found lifelong friends and a support system to fall back on when I needed it.

All the members of Phi Epsilon Kappa also participate in philanthropic and service events, some even running their own. I participated in some of these events and it gave me purpose beyond myself. THON plays an especially large role in my life as a member of PEK, as our commitment to the health field directly translates to the greater THON mission to develop a cure for pediatric cancer. Within my first semester, Phi Epsilon Kappa has given me a fun and encouraging community that I am proud to be apart of."

• Can I rush PEK if I am not a pre-medical major?

Yes! Members pursue many different health-related majors. Some include speech and communication disorders, biobehavioral health, kinesiology, health policy and administration, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, neurobiology, psychology, and more!

• Can I re-rush?

Yes! If you participated in recruitment previously but did not receive a bid, you are welcome to rush again during a future recruitment period. Re-rushing shows genuine interest in the involvement of our organization.

• What are the time commitments of being in PEK?

PEK is designed to be a manageable commitment alongside your classes and other activities. During your first semester, the time commitment is generally thought to be comparable to taking a 3-credit class. This includes chapter meetings, brotherhood events, service opportunities, and other activities throughout the semester. 

• What is business casual versus business professional?

Business Casual: Professional but relaxed attire, such as dress pants, khakis, polos, button-downs, blouses, or sweaters.

Business Professional: More formal attire, such as suits, dress shirts, ties, blazers, or professional dresses.

• What kinds of events does PEK have?

PEK's involvement is divided into 5 different categories: Professional, service, social, THON, and Health and Wellness. Throughout each semester, it is our goal to provide members with many different opportunities to get involved.

• Are there opportunities to take on leadership roles?

Yes! PEK has over 20 different leadership opportunities that members can pursue based on their passions and goals. During their first semester, members also have the opportunity to take on a leadership role within their new member class.

• Can I join PEK later if I don't participate in rush this semester?

Yes! If you don't participate in recruitment this semester, you are welcome to rush during a future recruitment period. We encourage you to join us when the time is right for you!
